「Making it visible enables reliable removal」

As well as eliminating plaque (biofilm), stains and tartar, we can also reliably remove biofilm and tartar that has penetrated into deep crevices of the gum pockets, which is impossible to remove completely with normal toothbrushing (with an electric toothbrush).

We always make the biofilm visible using dye before eliminating it with AIRFLOW powder and specialist microchips (miniature tools). Dyeing the biofilm to make it clearly visible makes the removal of tartar quick, efficient, and reliable. It also helps in accurate detection of caries.
AIRFLOW powder enables low-invasive cleaning, avoiding excessive mechanical stimulation of the teeth and gums.

The polishing powder has a granule size of less than 14μm, polishing the surface of the teeth to an extremely smooth shine, with the tongue feeling no roughness in the teeth or gums.
As a result, there is no need for polishing with conventional polishing paste. The treatment offers excellent amenity and efficiency without excess stimulation.

Examination and adjustment of the bite and jaw joint

The bite is indirectly related to gum disease.
It is not widely known that gum disease is not caused only by gum bacteria, but also by excess force applied to the teeth, and by an unbalanced bite.
Chronic non-bacterial inflammation will occur as a result of an unbalanced bite over many years and an excessive load on the teeth (which can come from teeth grinding etc.), and your teeth will start to wobble. If your teeth are always wobbling, you are liable to get gum disease. Most people are almost entirely unaware of this dental problem until major damage (pain, swelling etc.) occurs to the teeth. This is nonbacterial gum disease.
One thing that can easily go wrong is hypersensitivity. Severe hypersensitivity can occur in teeth that have started to wobble because of an over-strong bite.
This hypersensitivity starts with blood congestion (hyperaemia) in the tooth nerve or with cracking of the tooth, which means you will feel various stimuli including heat stimuli or dryness in the gums, and this causes a great deal of pain.
To protect your teeth you need not just bacterial control, but also control of force through a balanced bite.

Gum disease caused by the bite balance is particularly common among people who have had no caries and therefore no contact with a dentist, and we recommend everyone to have a bite balance examination.People who are already having dental treatment are unlikely to have caries or gum disease, but we would urge anyone who has symptoms such as a sense that something is wrong with their bite or that there is a discrepancy in it, or difficulty opening the mouth, or tension in the jaw tendons, or distortion in the jaw or mouth, to make sure to have a bite balance examination. It may be that we can eliminate that sense of something wrong, or pain, and protect your teeth, with just a slight adjustment of your bite.

Laser gum disease treatment

「Laser irradiation sterilises and promotes healing」

• Anyone of any age can get gum disease. The causes are either microbes/bacteria, or as stated above in section 2, an unbalanced, excessively forceful bite.
  This treatment for gum disease focuses on microbes/bacteria.
  The more bacteria build up, the more they release toxins that cause inflammations. The more harmful types of bacteria keep building up bacterial communities deep in the recesses of the gum pockets, leading to hard-to-treat gum diseases. The key bacteria cannot be eliminated by just cleaning once or twice, but need proper treatment over a period of time. When doing this, we additionally use laser gum disease treatment, in which microbes and bacteria that have penetrated deep among the teeth where tools cannot reach them are destroyed by the laser’s heat and light, and toxins within are sterilised. Applying a laser to inflamed sections also promotes healing and tightens up the gums.
  It is much more effective and faster than treatment without laser irradiation.A further improvement in effectiveness is shown if laser irradiation is performed following professional cleaning.

  Cases of mild or medium gum disease will show benefits from two or three irradiations.
  for medium to severe gum disease, we recommend a course of 5-7 treatments.
